Stuck in my head:

Tremolo. Follows me everywhere I go. Tremolo.

—Bleu, Tremolo

Which is funny, as Son Volt's Wide Swing Tremolo is one of my favorite albums. And the only reason I actually know what tremolo is.

Capital H:

i'll be back tomorrow
i'll be back in the ballroom swingin'
i'll be back with my superman action and i'm off to save the world
silly me i left a message with no return number
for my boys in blue in case of an emergency
in case the sh*t goes down

i'll be back tomorrow
i'll be back in the ballroom swingin'
i'll be back with my superman action
and i'm off to save the world
i'll be back tomorrow
i'll be back in the ballroom swingin'
i'll be back with a capital h it stands for hero and the hero is me

i'll be back tomorrow
i'll be back at a quarter to eleven
I'm half drunk and i can't see straight
A hero zero with a capital z that's me
Singin' songs from the balcony as the city crumbles
Under the powers of an evil doctor rocket science monster
With capabilities to destroy the entire universe
Tomorrow

I can't get this song out of my head.

In reading past rants, I really tend to babble. Huh. Dommage.

Um.. something fascinating in 3... 2... 1:

Things That Don't Suck, by Claire:

Apple iPods
Oz of course (unless we're speaking... literally).
Minneapolis, even though it's snowing right now.
Snow plows
Tim Easton's CD Break Your Mother's Heart
The Thorns covering Jayhawk's Blue
The band (guy) Bleu
Ike Reilly covering Cracker's Duty-Free
Son Volt covering Ron Wood's Mystifies Me on Trace

Ah, something semi-interesting: Michael Jackson may be innocent of the most current charges. Can't somebody catch him at something? Can't we make Plastic Surgery Gone Wild illegal?

A few random nuggets from this weekend. First, I was grocery shopping at Lund's and came out to put my groceries in the car. I noticed an SUV parked in a handicapped spot and a policey-looking guy getting out of it.

Then I heard a "Good!" coming from the direction of the Salvation Arny guy out front. Turns out the cop was ticketing a vehicle parked in the handicap parking with no tags on it.

Which I've never seen happen before. It warmed me heart.

I was watching Oz last night when Groves is electrocuted. And was thinking what I'd choose for my last meal. Here's what I came up with:

1. Dino's gyros and spanakopita

2. Pad thai from Sawatdee
3. White chicken chili from me
4. Something from Da Afghan
5. Sushi

I was contemplating interesting Minneapolis locations, and it struck me that I work right across the street from one of my favorites: Stardust Bowling.

24 hours, 7 days a week bowling. But they don't have a website. All I could find was James Lilek's overview of the place, and various "Minneapolis Hot Spots" listings.

The TV show "Let's Bowl" on Comedy Central is filmed there. Alledgedly, anyway. It's basically People's Court with bowling. We'd come out of work and there'd be a camera crew and a huge line of people queued up to get in. Took me a bit before I figured out what was going on.

I caught the show a couple time on Channel 23 before Comedy Central picked it up, but could never remember out when it was on, so I wasn't a regular viewer. Which is the exact same thing that happened with Mystery Science Theatre 3000 (originally 2000) when it was on Channel 23. I'd catch the tail end of it, laugh like crazy, and promptly forget to watch it the next week.

Back to Stardust, when we were working on networking our office, we had some rather late hours. One night we were in the basement fishing ethernet cable when we saw a ton of flashing lights outside. Turns out there was a shooting over at Stardust. Quite the drama.

We went for Jucy Lucy's at Matt's today and I was going to link to their website, but I can't find one. Found one better: a Grain Belt Beer slideshow and vitals on the burger. And a Dara Moskowitz review in City Pages. Nice short history of the burger.

I didn't wait long enough for the molten center to cool and burned my thumb. D'oh. I always forget
